Vaviasy

Vaviasy (30 years old) is from Tsaratanana and is completely free from obstetric fistula having suffered for eleven long years.

During this time Vaviasy visited local hospitals but found no adequate treatment for her disease. She later heard on the radio there was free obstetric fistula treatment in Toamasina, so she came to our Fistula Care Centre, underwent surgery and rehabilitation and is now recovered.

Vaviasy returned home happy and grateful. Now she can do things she couldn't before, like going to church, spending time with friends, wearing the clothes she likes, or going to meetings without having to worry that she is leaking or smelling of urine.
