Patient Stories: Damo
Damo (20) had fistula for two years. She is from Nosy Varika.
She still lives with her parents because she couldn’t live independently. She would not go outside with her friends or even family, even her cousins’ pointed fingers at her laughing at her. When she did go out people avoided her because she smelt of urine, so she locked herself in her house.
Georgette, an Ambassador, was looking for patients in her village, when her mother heard about it, and Damo didn’t hesitate to come to our Clinic even though it was so far away from where she lived.
She received a surgery on 25 November 2022 and was discharged on 12 December 2022. She was very thankful to our staff.
